Why Didst Thou Forsake Thy Purpose?

Why Didst Thou Forsake Thy Purpose?

Be Encouraged

This week I want to encourage you to not be afraid of what you can't see. I don't even want you to strive for success but strive to find purpose within your life, for in that discovery is when you are truly successful. Find advantages in your difficulties. There is nothing new under the sun, that of which you are going through, is already a victory someone else has already won. If they did it so can you.

Go and do the unthinkable, and if you fail, go and do something else, for that is unthinkable. You have a set time here on this earth and time is ticking. When that clock strikes for your soul to emerge from your mortal body, what is it that you want to say you have accomplished? When you are standing before the judge let not his words be "why didst thou forsake thy purpose?"

Some people live to die, some people are born dead, but some are reborn and spread light until they are laid to rest to be called again. We ignore, because it is easy, we run because reality is hard. But those who dare to be bold and courageous, un-intimidated and stead-fast, don't allow life to school them, but is schooling life.

People who are lost are normally afraid to see the path on which they embarked, and because of that fear, they never realize the reason they are lost is because they have been walking with their eyes shut. Open your eyes, and behold your destiny will reveal itself unto you.

Stop Giving People Power Over You

Stop Giving People Power Over You

"Smile for no reason."

One of the most valuable lessons I have learned on this journey of life, is as simple as, self control. I am in control of how I choose to feel and how I choose to react. So often am I a witness of countless victims of emotional distraught due to the absence of self control. They allow people to decide weather or not they are going to smile or determine should their day be deemed good.

This journey of self control began for me 3 years ago when a dear friend of mine (Faith Washington) came prancing in the room with all the joy of the world reigning amongst her spirit. And I ask her "what is it that has made you so happy this morning?" And her response was a Revelation. At first I was so confused because I had never thought of life in such aspect, but what she didn't know was that what she proclaimed that day would change me forever. She had explained that nothing promoted the exaltation she was exhilarating that morning, that she simply woke up and decided that "today I am going to smile" for the simple fact that she had enough control to decide that, and no matter what would happen during that day she would, smile. She portrayed to me that we ultimately decide our well being.

From that day forward I practiced self control. I stopped crying off the behalf of other people, I would no longer allow people to have that power. I wouldn't get angry and react off of ignorant peoples actions, I wouldn't give them that power. I decided if I was going to walk with a smile on my face or if I would allow the weight of the world to weigh my head down, it would be because I decided that for myself and not based off other people's assertions. Therefore, no matter what people do, it will not affect my emotions because I have accumulated control of my self  through discipline of choosing to smile for no reason, when people intended to hurt my feelings, choosing to not care, when I was supposed to be angry, choosing to thank God for the sun, when I felt the right to slap the stupid out of someone, choosing to say "God have mercy on your soul."

Today stop giving people power over you. This does not happen over night because as soon as you decide that you would live such a life, you will be tested daily. All the forces of the world main agendas will be to get you to react irrationally and out of character, but my advice to you is to smile for no reason.
